Little Tiny Humans

Today we made some memo pads for the tiny hands of my children.  Charlotte has a huge love for pen and paper in hand.  Often, she will escape to a corner of the house, sit down and draw her little world on a piece of paper.  I like these little pads because it keeps all her art work together, and I don't have to worry about hundreds of pieces of paper to deal with.

With just some card stock, computer paper, and needle and thread we were able to put a few of these wonderful little books together.  Oh, and let me not forget the artistic skills of my daughter.  I just love her little people.

Some other favorite spots of hers are the stairs, and by the oven in the kitchen.

We also took a basket outside to pick some flowers to string up for the home.  I wish I had my camera during this time.  Watching one of the babies on one end, and the other baby on the other end of the basket carrying it from tree to tree was just precious.  They had wonderful team work today.  We spent about an hour and a half walking around picking flowers from different trees. We used Plumerias because they have the sweetest, most fragrant smell.

Jordan School Photos

This year I have decided not to do school photos from the school, rather do them myself.  I figure with the prices they charge nowadays for some quick shoot, one shot only photo - I can do them myself.  Cheesy back drops are not my thing, but natural light is.  With this being said, I have decided to offer school portraits to my clients as well.  With about the same price they would pay for one silly pose, I can offer them about 20 different poses.

So today, I took my sweet son outside, and took his school photos.  I am going to order them in wallets and such this week sometime for sharing with friends and family.  Here are a few of the photos I did today ...

My little boy is growing up into the most handsome little man.  I love that boy so much!

On another note - I took the sweetest photo today of Charlotte and Chase sleeping... together!

blankets and post-bath laughs

I have been hard at work these past few days editing photos, cleaning the house, making sure I don't lose my children, and also making christmas gifts.  I went to down to a local store here that sells second hand and vintage items, including bed linens.  I found so many lovely patterns in these well loved sheets.  There is nothing like the feeling of a well loved sheet! When I got home I threw them all in the wash, and then began cutting the squares I would need for my project.  This years project is - Picnic blankets! As I have to sew everything by hand, it takes me a lot longer then it would one who would use a machine.  So far I am working on row three and four! Here is a photo of what it is looking like now...

When I get done with this project, I will have to be sure to post photos of the completed blanket. I have a lot of work ahead of me.

Besides the pricking of the needles against my fingers, thread and pieces of fabric constantly being brushed to one end of the house to the next, I am also surrounded by little giggles - constantly.

Hats

My dear friend Rain has been hard at work for me making my children winter hats, blankets, and wash clothes! She is also the new owner of her own ETSY store!  So, not only do I have the great joys in owning her sweet creations, I also have the joys in photographing her items for her store!  Preparing for the up and coming move that is happening right around the corner, I have been collecting and ordering some of the warmest multi use things I can find.  Here are a few of the photos of my sweet girl wearing the darling hat that I photographed yesterday.

 

 

 

Picnic

We enjoyed our selves this past weekend with picnics, er trips, and errands.  Ah the JOYS!  to start off this segment of my post - everyone is fine and doing well.  On to the more fun things - like picnics!  It was Chase's command picnic that we had to attend (what they like to call mandatory fun days) this past friday.  The kids had the best time eating shave ice, bouncing in bounce houses, throwing horse shoes, and just feeling the freedom to be a kid.  It was nice for me to see some friends that I hadn't seen in awhile and for Chase to mingle in a non work setting with some of his co-workers/friends.  Of course, as usual these days, we had to leave early so Chase could get to work with all the other CPO selectees and attend to their secret initiation stuff.  Here are a few photos from the picnic - 

 
(Charlotte enjoyed the bounce house so much.  But let me tell you, there is nothing like your little one entering a bounce house full of a bunch of rambunctious children that sets off your protective mothering instincts. The thoughts "If you push my child one more time kid... " kept entering my mind.)

(It was so good to have our Chase with us for a few hours.  The kids were treating daddy with celebrity status! I was too! ha ha.  It was just nice to feel like a family for a small moment.)

Winter Pants!!!

I am in the process of getting some sweet winter pants made for my munchkins.  12 pants in all! I wish I had some photos to show you what they looked like, but for now I will show you some examples of what they possibly could look like by a very talented Etsy seller. I am not purchasing her pants sadly, but instead having them made through Etsy's wonderful world of Alchemy!

Hoot!

Her Name is Suzy Fairchild.  Her website is Hoot Organic.  Her hobby is Children's clothing. Her hats are the sweetest little creations.  Nothing flashy, trendy, or gaudy about her products.  Simple, clean, adorable, and child like would be the words I would use to describe her products.  

 If you are an Etsy lover (like am), then you should check out her Etsy shop as well here.  I will have the privilege of having some of her products in my studio here by the end of the year.  I am very excited.  I am looking forward to photographing some adorable little ones wearing her sweet creations!
